How To Create A Custom Email For Your Website (2024)

A custom email based on your domain name is important.

It helps make your website seem legit. You’ll appear a professional when you outreach to others in your niche.

Some hosting services include such an email, while others may not. So it can be something to think about when choosing a web hosting company.

In this post, I’ll show you some options you have to get yourself a custom email based on your domain.

Custom email provided by hosting service

Some hosting service providers such as WPX will include a custom email with the package.

Cloudways does not provide such a custom email. But I use their Rackspace addon that gets you a custom email for $1/month.

You should consider this when choosing a hosting service if you need the custom email included.

Personally, I don’t think this is critical when choosing a hosting service. That’s why I use Cloudways and get the custom email created separately.

Get a custom email from Google Workspace

If your hosting service does not provide a custom email, you can consider using Google Workspace to create this email.

The benefit of using Google Workspace is you get a lot of other features included such as Calendar, Meet, Chat, Drive, Docs, Sheets, Slides, Forms, Sites and many collaboration tools.

The drawback is that you need a paid Google Workspace account. So it will cost you besides the hosting fee.

Get a custom email from Zoho Mail

You can get a free custom email from Zoho Mail that works for a small business.

The drawback I found with this email is that I can’t use tools like Outlook or Gmail to get those emails. I have to use the Zoho webmail to check the emails.

I hope I can encourage you to get a custom email for your domain. It will help you appear as a professional business to Google and your readers.

I would suggest checking if your preferred hosting provider already includes an email for your domain. If not, you can consider Google Workspace as a good option for your custom email.

Once you get the custom email, you can set it up with your favorite tool, such as Outlook, Thunderbird, or Gmail.

You will manage your emails using these tools rather than going to the webmail interface that can lack features.
